You may do a great job of cleaning your teeth at home. Everyone should brush their teeth and tongue at least twice a day, and floss at least once a day. Your teeth can look bright, white, and squeaky clean. But it is still not as clean as it could be, and they still might have a problem.

The only way the teeth can be as healthy as possible is if you have your teeth cleaned and examined by a professional dentist. They have the tools and resources required to reach areas and remove bacteria that we simply do not have at home. Everyone is encouraged by the American Dental Association to see their dentist at least twice a year, or more often if recommended.

During your cleaning and examination, our dentist in SF will check for:

  • Decay
  • Chips, cracks, or breaks
  • Loose teeth
  • Gum disease (gingivitis or periodontitis)
  • Oral cancer

  • Growth abnormalities in the face, jaw, or neck

You may need to see our expert in dental exam in San Francisco more often if you have:
